The NFL will release its schedule in prime-time for the first time ever coming up on Tuesday night at 7pm. Both ESPN and the NFL Network will run their own schedule release shows to coincide with this special day. To be honest, I’m equally excited about the schedule release as I am the draft but that’s a whole other post.
Look, Phillies baseball will certainly hold me off from having NFL night sweats until training camp gets here. Yet, schedule day on Tuesday marks one of my favorite days of the year.
Can you think of any other sport in which fans immediately take a look at the schedule and already begin to formulate wins and losses? That’s the beauty of the NFL. With only 16 games for each team, the schedule process allows fans to be somewhat unrealistic about its hopes even before the draft.
The season is already bathed in subplots including the appearance of Terrell Owens, Jay Cutler as a Bear and New England is likely to have a fair quarterback under center. Can Tuesday get here already?
