Well, are we surprised this happened? Not that Norv blew up which we’ll get to in a second but with a playoff field ripe with inexperienced head coaches and head coaches that you may not trust to do your laundry, it was only a matter time before we saw a few coaching gaffes.
That leads us to Norv Turner and the San Diego Chargers. His team labored offensively on Sunday in their shocking 17-14 loss to the Jets and a major coaching decision did not help matters either. With the score 17-14 late in the fourth quarter, Turner decided to go for an onside kick instead of kicking away. That decision gave the Jets great field position and virtually eliminated any chance of the Chargers winning.
Thus, San Diego’s 11 game win streak is now in the archives. Meanwhile, the Jets are in the AFC title game. Nate Kaeding didn’t help matters by missing three kicks as well.
