It took the Phillies 19 innings to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 5-4 early Thursday morning. However, the big story became Phillies utilityman Wilson Valdez, who stepped in from second base to throw a scoreless top of the 19th to lead the Phils to victory.
Randy “Macho Man” Savage was crazy. Sometimes he morphed into the type of crazy that someone normally reserves for a funny relative or friend. Other times he could be the type of crazy that made viewers wonder if he needed to be put in a straitjacket.
The real fun begins on Friday (weather permitting) for the Phillies and their potentially all-world pitching staff.
