It appears that Terrell Owens will cash in with the Cowboys, according to ESPN. Owens is set to receive a new four-year, $34 million contract. The Owens deal makes him one of the richest wideouts in the NFL.
Owens, who joined the Cowboys in 2006 resuscitated a Dallas offense that lacked explosiveness in the passing game. In the past two seasons, Owens owns 166 catches and 28 touchdown receptions.
Entering his 13th year, T.O.’s success has not netted Dallas any postseason gains. The Cowboys fell in a memorable Wild Card loss at Seattle in 2006 and fell to the Giants in the NFC Divisional playoff a season ago.
He’s likely to forget about that momentarily the next time he heads to the bank.
