We are at the halfway point of our countdown…let the games begin.
5. Fredo returns…and conquers: Favre returns to Lambeau Field and completes season sweep of Green Bay Packers.
When Brett Favre signed a contract to play for the Minnesota Vikings, all roads would eventually lead back to Green Bay, Wisconsin at least once during the regular season.
After deposing of his former team a month earlier in the Metrodome, Favre and the Vikings made their way to Lambeau Field. Despite being greeted by a collection of boos from the people who once cheered him, Favre made sure Round 2 offered more problems for the Packers.
Favre led Minnesota up and down the field to the tune of 244 yards passing and four touchdown tosses in a 38-26 win.
Even though Aaron Rodgers and company put together a second half rally, for the second time during the ’09 season, it was the elder Favre who got the better of his considerably younger counterpart.
