Joe Montana turned 55 on Saturday but the weekend was not a complete win for the four-time Super Bowl winner. Montana is recuperating after being involved in an accident over the weekend.

Montana needed stitches above his eye after falling from an all terrain vehicle at his California ranch.

The former 49er quarterback’s injuries are not considered life-threatening and he is “ok” according to accounts.

News of the accident came when Montana had to back out of an appearance before Santa Clara City Council on Tuesday regarding an upcoming plan to build a hotel and entertainment complex near the planned 49ers stadium.
