SNF – Cardinals/Colts Live Blog – 2nd Quarter

Larry and Marcus.

Larry and Marcus.

9:12: Geez. Got to love Michaels. He asks Collinsworth if the Cards are a one-year wonder and references the franchise’s less than stellar history. Seemingly on cue, Tim Hightower fumbles inside of the Colts’ 10 yardline.  Rough night for Timmy so far.

9:22: You knew this was coming…following Arizona turnover, the Golden Boy goes to work and then…woooo! One handed snag by Reggie Wayne gives Indy its first lead of the night. Somewhere, Marvin Harrison is gnashing his teeth.

COLTS 7, CARDINALS 3

9:33: Colts defensive line slaughtered the Cards on the last possession, forcing another Arizona punt. By the way, I get the impression Michaels is enjoying saying the name Pierre Garcon, due to the french twist with the last name.

9:38: Uh oh. Colts in the money zone and Manning to glorified wide receiver Dallas Clark extends the Indy lead. Vinatieri’s PAT is blocked but somehow deflects off the camera attached to the field goal post in the process. It’s still good and it’s all good with the Colts.

COLTS 14, CARDINALS 3

9:44: Now that’s just showing off Al Michaels. Of course, Garcon makes a catch which leads us into the first Mount Union reference of the evening. Michaels flexes his broadcasting muscle by alerting the viewers that not only is Mount Union a Division III football powerhouse but that Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers attended the school as well. Totally unnecessary but proving why he’s Al Michaels and you’re not….

9:47: Speak of the devil…Garcon 53 yard touchdown catch. In Alliance, Ohio, Garcon’s old coach Larry Kehres, is smiling broadly.

COLTS 21, CARDINALS 3

9:56: Cards end the half with another money zone turnover thanks to tipped pass from Warner that gets intercepted. Turnovers down there are deadly…especially against the Golden Child.

HALFTIME: COLTS 21, CARDS 3
