Derek Anderson Will Not Root (or Play) For The Browns In 2010

Derek Anderson’s contract with the Cleveland Browns was terminated on Tuesday. As a result, he is not going to leave the city on the best of terms.

Following his termination, Anderson decided to hit Browns fans with a haymaker in an e-mail of all things.

The fans are ruthless and don’t deserve a winner. I will never forget getting cheered when I was injured. I know at times I wasn’t great. I hope and pray I’m playing when my team comes to town and (we) roll them.

Holy ghost. While Cleveland fans own a dubious reputation for debauchery, I’m not sure a guy who posted a 42.1 quarterback rating is the person who should throw such daggers at Browns fans.

Nonetheless, when the Browns acquired Seneca Wallace from the Seahawks on Monday, someone’s days in Cleveland were clearly numbered. That someone proved to be Anderson.

Instead of leaving on those remarks, perhaps he should have wished that LeBron James become a Los Angeles Clipper. That’s good enough.
