This was not the weekend to be a member of the 2010 rookie quarterback class.
Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, Jimmy Clausen, and Colt McCoy did not exactly impress in their preseason debuts over the weekend.
Bradford, the overall number one pick in this year’s draft, looked shaky early and then got sacked four times by the Vikings in a 28-7 loss.
Last Thursday night in Baltimore, Clausen went 8 of 15 for 80 yards and an interception in the team’s 17-12 loss to the Ravens. He was sacked twice as well.
Colt McCoy, who was injured in his last game as a collegiate quarterback, did not fair well in Green Bay on Saturday. He banged his hand on a helmet and had to leave the game.
Tim Tebow was a mixed bag in Cincinnati. He led Denver on a late scoring drive and scored his first touchdown as a pro but also took a couple of big hits.
There will be better weeks for these gentlemen…at least their respective franchises hope so.
Meanwhile, I’m feeling Depeche Mode here…
