An Indianapolis sports talk show host is reporting that Peyton Manning is out…for the season.

Jake Query of WNDE in Indianapolis claims that Manning had a third procedure done last Sunday or Monday on his ailing neck and as a result will miss the rest of the season.

SI.com’s Peter King is calling nonsense on the report.

I’m not sure of the validity regarding Query’s report after King swatted it away but I think Dr. Doolittle could figure out that Manning is not going to play this week or any week in the immediate future.

Also, keep in mind that the Colts and Manning are at least one to two steps ahead of where the media and fans are mentally with this situation.

For now, they’ll continue to run Jedi mind tricks on opponents and present the illusion that Manning might play at some point.

Too bad for Manning and the Colts that the trick is not likely to be a reality anytime soon.
