The 43-year-old Jeff George was last seen in the NFL back in 2006 but the veteran quarterback believes he can help the troubled Indianapolis Colts.
George, who lives 20 minutes away from the Colts team facility, thinks he has enough juice left to replace the injured Peyton Manning in some manner.
“I know it’s a long shot, but they need something,” said George.
The number one overall pick in the 1990 NFL Draft, George campaigned to return to action last year if then-Vikings quarterback Brett Favre opted to retire prior to the 2010 season.
The former Colt/Falcon/Raider/Viking/Redskin/Seahawk/Bear quarterback last appeared on a roster in 2006 for Oakland.
Judging from his last workout videos, he still knows how to throw some slants and crosses.
