Washington Redskins quarterback (and proud Baylor alumnus) Robert Griffin III was hopping mad over Baylor’s shocking 82-81 loss to Louisville in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament on Sunday night.
Following the loss, which ended the career of the great Brittney Griner, Griffin took his feelings to Twitter.
Griffin was highly upset at the liberal officiating against Griner.
Citing a lack of whistles regarding Louisville’s physical play against Griner, RGIII’s Baylor pride leaked through during his Twitter diatribe.
Griffin, who appeared at the Final Four last year in support of the Lady Bears during their national title run, is amongst numerous frustrated Baylor fans who saw the biggest upset in women’s basketball history.
After posting, Griffin indicated that he was simply expressing his love for his friends and the school.
No explanation needed, RGIII. It’s always great to see athletes supporting their former institution.
It was a basketball-heavy weekend for RGIII. He rubbed elbows with President Barack Obama at the Syracuse-Marquette Elite 8 game in Washington on Saturday.
