The Phillies season is over. Naturally, I’m in mourning as the Yankees laid their repeat chances to rest last night in a 7-3 victory in Game 6 of the World Series. It was a great 371 days to be on top of the mountain. Much like Randy Savage in 1989, we just ran into a stronger force. We were saddled with a shaky bullpen and shaky starting pitching down the stretch; whereas in ’89, Savage was doomed by his on-again, off-again relationship with Miss Elizabeth. Phillies fans, our thought process should be similar to that of the Macho Man after Wrestlemania V; beat up the competition, retool and come back stronger. We’ll be back MLB.
