Instead of me typing out every single conceivable way someone can make the playoffs, just go here. If that doesn’t do the trick for you, I’ll break it down for you in simple terms.
Baltimore: If the Ravens win, they are in.
NY Jets: If the Jets win, they are in.
If the Jets and/or Ravens lose…immediately buy up all of the bread, milk, and eggs at your local supermarket and board your house. All hell will break loose. The Jags and Dolphins at 7-8 basically need someone to get struck by lightning to make it. Luckily, the Jets play at 8:15 Sunday night so things will be a bit less fuzzy by kickoff.
Seeding between (3 or 4 seed) Cincy and the Pats is yet to be determined and is not as simple as a win/loss proposition.
The six teams are set. The seeding, however, is a whole other story.
Minnesota, Philadelphia, Dallas or Arizona (remember them, NFC champs?) could end up as the number two seed. Only New Orleans is locked in to their spot as the number one seed.
Dallas/Philly and GB/Arizona could all end up playing each other in Wild-Card weekend despite already playing in Week 17. The best part of all of the possible NFC scenarios? There is a scenario for a possible Favre vs. GB III. Expect a network knife fight between FOX and NBC to cover that game if it happens.
Got all that?
