It was a rough evening in Louisiana for Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings, who coughed up a chance to win the NFC title in a 31-28 overtime loss. According to ESPN, he told Ed Werder that he is not coming back next season but we’ve heard that before. Much like the ’07 NFC title game, yesterday’s loss is going to be a tough one to live with as a final game. Somehow the beating Favre took yesterday though might be enough to keep off of an NFL field for the 2010 season.

Then of course, we have the New York Jets. Leading 17-6 after emptying out the playbook in the second quarter, Peyton Manning and company went to work. The Colts abused any Jets defensive back who did not have the last name of Revis en route to a 30-17 victory in the AFC Championship game.
This sets the stage for Super Bowl XLIV between the Colts and Saints. It marks the first time since the 1993 season that the number one seeds will face off in the Super Bowl.
