Soon after the conference title games ended, Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams began the trash-talking by saying the Saints D was going to give Peyton Manning some “remember me” shots. The latest salvo comes from the Colt of all Colts.
During an interview with ESPN on Sunday night, Manning referred to Darren Sharper as “Jamie”. Unfortunately, Jamie Sharper has been out of the sport since 2005.
Not to be outdone, Darren referred to Peyton as “Eli” during a Monday interview.
You can tell that the Saints are a bit on edge. Without a doubt, the talk over the past week and change has been about two things: the greatness of Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. People just aren’t paying attention to the Saints. Expect a whole lot of “no one respects us” talk from them this week.
