Drew Brees was named Super Bowl MVP following the Saints’ 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. Even before Peyton Manning’s ill-timed pick six to Tracy Porter, Brees seemed to be the more poised and under control of the two.
Brees helped the Saints complete the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history by overcoming a 10-0 deficit. He completed 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards with two touchdowns and perhaps the game’s most important statistic, no interceptions.
The Purdue Boilermaker did his alma mater proud tonight.
