One offseason endeavor down, one more to go for Chad Ochocinco. The NFL’s representation on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars is no longer after Ochocinco and his partner Cheryl Burke, met their untimely demise on the show. The duo made it to the final four of the dance competition but could not outlast Erin Andrews, Evan Lysacek, and Nicole Scherzinger.

Ochocinco moves onto what might be the one of the great ideas in reality television history.

He will begin work on The Tournament, a dating show on VH1 that will show Ochocinco in pursuit of a lady as he will narrow a field of 85 (you get it?!?) to 1.

After the field is narrowed to 16, the real fun begins. As the press release explains:

The winner of each dating face-off will receive a game ball from Ocho Cinco and move on to the next round of the tournament, while the loser goes home. Ultimately the sweet sixteen will be narrowed down to eight and then the final four.  In the end, the championship date between the two remaining women will result in Ocho Cinco awarding his chosen love the coveted Championship Ring.

Awesome idea. I just hope it doesn’t distract him from his other pursuits, like you know, football.
