Apparently determined to sign nearly every relevant free agent, the Philadelphia Eagles were back at it on Tuesday by inking a collection of players including former Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown.
His arrival continues a whirlwind of activity for the Eagles, who also signed safety Jarrad Page and offensive tackle Ryan Harris.
Brown’s presence likely means that the Wildcat formation is not going away anytime soon in Philadelphia. The insurance policy for LeSean McCoy helped launch a successful run of the Wildcat for the Dolphins dating back to the 2008 season.
Now drawing comparisons to the Miami Heat, the Eagles are rapidly picking up steam as a preseason Super Bowl favorite.
They are also drawing the ire of Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, who is excited to see the “all-hype” team from Philadelphia.
If the level of preseason hype is not meeting Ryan’s standards, he might want to skip the cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated.
Nnamdi Asomugha, Philadelphia’s free-agent cornerback acquisition, graces this week’s SI cover.
Once DeSean Jackson ends his holdout, expect the hype machine to go into another dimension.
