Tim Tebow started out Sunday missing on 13 of his first 16 passes but a pair of Matt Prater 50-yard plus field goals, coupled with two gaffes by Chicago’s Marion Barber, allowed Denver to grab a 13-10 overtime win.
Trailing 10-0 in the fourth quarter, Tebow hit Demaryius Thomas on a 10-yard touchdown pass to trim the Chicago lead to three.
Then, inexplicably, Barber ran out of bounds with just under two minutes left after Denver used all of its timeouts. Upon getting the ball back, Tebow led another scoring march as Prater connected on a 59-yard field goal to send the game into overtime.
Barber’s long day continued after he fumbled in Denver territory during Chicago’s first (and last) possession in overtime. Prater finished off Chicago with a 51-yarder.
I don’t know how Tebow does it but his teammates deserve a lot more credit than what they are getting nationally.
