For the second straight week, the salsa moves of Victor Cruz spelled doom for an opponent.
This time, the Dallas Cowboys fell victim, losing the NFC East title to the Giants on Sunday night 31-14.
Cruz proved to be the game’s pivotal player. He caught six passes for 178 yards and hauled in a 74-yard touchdown reception from Eli Manning.
In what turned out to be the most-watched Sunday Night Football game of all-time, the Giants jumped out 21-0 before Dallas finally woke up.
Down 21-7, a poorly executed quarterback sneak deep in Giants territory by Tony Romo early in the fourth quarter killed a potential scoring drive and gave away a precious opportunity.
Dallas got within seven points of the Giants at 21-14 but the swollen hand of Romo and the rest of the Cowboys could not keep pace with the eventual NFC East champions.
The Giants earn a date at home with the Atlanta Falcons during first round of the NFC playoffs. Meanwhile, the ‘Boys will bust out the golf clubs.
Alas, it’s another failure for Tony Romo, who is the Charlie Brown of NFL quarterbacks.
