Just like that, it’s over for Pittsburgh.
Tim Tebow and Demaryius Thomas teamed up for an 80-yard overtime touchdown to defeat the defending AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers, 29-23, in an AFC wild card game on Sunday.
Pittsburgh led 6-0 but Denver stormed back behind Mr. Tebow and its much-maligned offensive unit to build a 20-6 halftime advantage.
With its season in peril, the Steelers finally woke up in the second half.
Trailing 23-16 late in the fourth quarter, Pittsburgh was in desperate need for a big play defensively. Broncos running back Willis McGahee fumbled in Pittsburgh territory and a Steelers recovery set the table for the eventual tying score by Steelers wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery.
Ben Roethlisberger, a two-time Super Bowl winner and man of questionable character, was bested by Tim Tebow’s 316 yards passing and three touchdowns (one rushing).

How fitting.
The Broncos travel to New England to next to meet the Patriots in the AFC Divisional playoffs.
