Chad Ochocinco’s abbreviated run in New England came to an end on Thursday when the team released him.
Ochocinco managed just 15 receptions for 276 yards and a touchdown; all of which were career-lows for the former Cincinnati Bengals receiver.
He struggled to learn the offense and never made a significant impact for a team that could have used another relatively solid contribution from a receiver (especially in Super Bowl XLVI).
It’s expected that Ochocinco will catch on with another squad. Some of the potential suitors could be Dallas, Carolina, Buffalo, or St. Louis.
Denver Broncos defensive back Drayton Florence is already trying to recruit Ochocinco through Twitter to catch passes from Peyton Manning in the Mile High City.
If he can’t catch passes in an offense orchestrated by Tom Brady, then joining Manning is rather unlikely.
Regardless, we haven’t heard the last of Ochocinco.
