Before Wednesday’s night game, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Kevin Ogletree never scored a touchdown during a three-year NFL career.
With just a scant 25 catches to his credit, Ogletree riddled New York’s secondary for 114 yards on eight receptions and a pair of touchdowns during an opening night 24-17 Cowboys victory.
Since Jason Witten was running around with a proverbial piano on his back due to a lacerated spleen, the Cowboys desperately needed another contributor.
Enter Ogletree, who will fill the role of the departed Laurent Robinson.
For once, it’s time to give Ogletree’s much-maligned quarterback some credit. When he needed to deliver, Tony Romo did just that.
