The NFL’s effort to save the Pro Bowl continued on Wednesday with the first-ever fantasy draft televised on NFL Network.

Hall of Famers Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice played general manager on each side. Thus, instead of using the typical conferenced format, Sanders and Rice were allowed to go with an unconferenced structure.

Armed with the draft’s first pick, Sanders selected Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. Meanwhile, Rice selected Saints tight end Jimmy Graham.

The Pro Bowl, which takes place on Sunday, January 26, is still drawing the scorn of football purists.

Retired NFL television analyst John Madden ripped the Pro Bowl during an interview on SiriusXM.

Madden believes were at the end of the road for the NFL All-Star game.

Not a moment too soon, John.
