Slightly lost in the news that the dreaded Thursday night NFL package of doom is being picked up by CBS for the first eight weeks of the 2014 NFL season is that wildly popular comedy The Big Bang Theory is likely to be get pushed back.
The Big Bang Theory, which is one of the most popular non-football related shows on television, will likely head to the bench until November when coverage switches over to NFL Network primarily or possibly move to another night altogether while Jim Nantz and Phil Simms usher in the new package on CBS over the first eight weeks of the NFL season.
However, CBS is content with the NFL possibly saddling them with eight weeks of Texans/Jaguars-esque contests because football equals ratings.
That’s right, CBS is banking on a ratings boom that doesn’t involve Kaley Cuoco and the rest of The Big Bang Theory.
Kids, the NFL talks and everything else runs a marathon.
