Super Bowl LII

Minnesota Wins Super Bowl LII Bid

The NFL awarded Super Bowl LII to Minneapolis, Minnesota on Tuesday at the league’s annual spring meeting in Atlanta.

The 52nd edition of Super Sunday will take place in early 2018 and in the Vikings’ new stadium that will potentially debut in 2016

According to NFL Network, Minnesota’s win marks the first time ever that New Orleans was defeated in the final round to select a Super Bowl host. New Orleans claimed the Super Bowl in its previous 10 opportunities.

The win represents the first Super Bowl in Minnesota since Super Bowl XXVI when the Washington Redskins dominated the Buffalo Bills in a  37-24 victory back in 1992, held in the Metrodome.

Minnesota’s win also comes at the expense of Indianapolis, who dropped from the race after not receiving enough support.
