Earlier this week, former Carolina Panthers receiver and current Raven Steve Smith Sr. promised a “blood & guts” affair when the two teams got together on Sunday.
Smith Sr. delivered in Baltimore’s 38-10 romp over Carolina with 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns – scoring on 61-yard and 21-yard plays respectively.
Meanwhile, Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina’s rookie receiver out of Florida State and essentially Smith’s replacement, caught a touchdown pass but failed to have a similar impact on the day’s proceedings.
Smith Sr’s performance comes as a followup to a Sunday report on NFL Network on the ex-Panther receiver’s alleged disdain for the mental prowess of former teammate Cam Newton.
