Say Your Goodbyes To Carrie Underwood’s Sunday Night Football Theme Song

Carrie“Waiting All Day For Sunday Night” has reached its end.

The Sunday Night Football theme, most recently crooned by country music star Carrie Underwood, will reportedly be replaced by a new tune prior to the first SNF game of the season on September 11 between the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals.

Despite the audible, Underwood will still be singing SNF’s trademark theme song, which will be an apparent spin on the song “Something Bad.” The tune, which features Miranda Lambert, will be just the second theme song used in the franchise’s 10-year history.

As campy as “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night” was, it became familiar. I don’t know how the new song will sound with its football-centric lyrics but I’ll kind of miss the original.

For the record, my favorite version is the Faith Hill version. No disrespect Carrie.

In other news, I don’t think it matters that much who sings what but we need to go back to intros like this:

Let’s make the NFL great again.
