Dancing Saints Likely Face Punishment For Not Wearing Masks During Gaudy Locker Room Celebration

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New Orleans Saints face significant discipline for violating COVID-19 protocols following last Sunday’s 38-3 emphatic win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It’s expected that the Saints will be fined and potentially lose a draft pick, which is what happened to the Las Vegas Raiders for being multiple time offenders.

Following Sunday’s impressive win, the Saints proceeded to engage in a dance-filled locker room celebration that featured head coach Sean Payton and former Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston.

The party, which was shot on social media platforms, included one common theme – there were no masks worn. To the NFL’s credit, they have been adamant over teams following COVID-19 protocols – especially with cases rising around the country.

Earlier this season, the Saints were fined $250,000 while Payton was fined $100,000 for not wearing a mask properlyN during a Week 2 game.

Maybe the Saints will learn from their follies one day. Whether it was the Skimask Saints in ’18, the Chopper Saints in ’19, or this year’s fiasco, it seems like the football gods always have a receipt for the team from the Big Easy.

Just ask Stefon Diggs after Minnesota’s playoff win over the Saints last January:

The football gods don’t like ugly.
