Tonight seemed to be a perfunctory edition of Monday Night Football. After two losses, the previously 11-0 Pittsburgh Steelers would take care of business by handling the Cincinnati Bengals and their third-string quarterback, Ryan Finley.
Oops.
The Bengals stunned the Steelers in a 27-17 win. It marks Pittsburgh’s third straight loss and they have fallen from the AFC’s top seed to the third spot by virtue of their loss to Buffalo two Sunday nights ago.
Perhaps the evening’s most embarrassment for the Steelers started in pregame. Steelers receiver/social media influencer JuJu Smith-Schuster did a dance for his Tik Tok at midfield during pregame warmups – something he has become known for this season.
Comeuppance arrived during a dreadful first half performance. Smith-Schuster got lit up by Cincinnati’s Vonn Bell on a reception over the middle and lost a fumble to the Bengals.
It turned into that kind of night for the Steelers, who fell behind 17-0.
The surging Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns round out Pittsburgh’s regular season schedule. The Browns are only a game out of first place in the AFC North suddenly.
There is a real chance that Pittsburgh could lose out…and lose the AFC North.
