Zach Wilson Exits Game With Non-Contact Knee Injury

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, who made headlines this past offseason for his off-the-field exploits and possibly, for having that dawg in him, left the team’s Friday night preseason game against the Eagles with a non-contact knee injury.

Wilson injured his right knee on a scramble during the first quarter of New York’s 24-21 win over the Eagles. After missing a portion of last season due to an MCL injury to the same knee, there is hope that injury is not season-ending. However, a tweet from notable injury guru David Chao suggests the injury may be way worse. The BYU product will receive an MRI on Saturday.

The second overall pick during the 2021 NFL Draft, Wilson finished just 3 of 5 for 23 yards with an interception while playing on Friday.

If he misses a considerable amount of time, New York’s other options at quarterback include Mike White and Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco…other possibly acquiring 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
