According to Yahoo sports, Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb plans on asking the team for more money on top of the two years remaining on his contract. As Yahoo puts it, a “financial apology” of sorts may be what he is looking for after being benched by Andy Reid in November but then leading the Birds to the NFC Championship Game.
Mac5, who is 32, has been giving mixed signals on whether he wants to return to Philly. He’ll say one thing on camera but is clearly sending another signal to NFL Network’s Deion Sanders, who believes McNabb wants out of town ASAP.
Further complicating matters were McNabb’s less than team-friendly comments regarding the defense’s performance in the title game loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
The money thing could turn into a potential power play for the Eagles veteran quarterback. If he doesn’t get his cash, look for the circus to begin.
