Until Brett Favre begins Brettapalooza during the summer, we’ll have to settle for the musings of Donovan F. McNabb in the meantime. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, McNabb may end up in a Ram uniform.
According to the Post-Dispatch report by Bryan Burwell, the Rams have been in “intense internal discussions” with the Eagles over adding McNabb via trade. Interestingly enough, St. Louis may be a viable spot for McNabb.
Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo not only saw plenty of McNabb as defensive coordinator for the Giants but also coached on the Eagles staff from 1999 to 2000. Secondly, if the Rams opt to draft a quarterback (Sam Bradford?), having a veteran signal caller to carry the action for awhile is probably a good idea.
Despite recent trends, for every Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan, there is a Jamarcus Russell.
Can the Rams make this happen? Yes, but the Eagles will probably make the asking price steep.
There is one fly in the ointment for the Rams. Somehow, do you see McNabb all that happy to play for a team that is moons away from getting to a Super Bowl? Me neither.
