Rumors are swirling regarding the number one pick in next week’s NFL Draft. One of the reasons for that is due to the Rams announcing that they don’t plan on signing Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford before Thursday’s draft.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bradford camp is not in a hurry to ink a deal and conversely, neither are the Rams.
This goes against the grain of recent thinking where teams have locked up the overall number one prior to the draft.
Another potential wrench in the works is a rumored Rams-Browns trade that would see the two teams swap picks. It appears that the Browns may not be ok with a Delhomme-Clausen one/two punch potentially.
Regardless of how this shakes out, it’s very likely that Bradford will remain the number one pick in the draft regardless of who is doing the picking.
It seems to me that Rams are going to hold onto that pick unless someone really makes it worth their while and if not, they’ll take Bradford.
