Bill Belichick is rolling in Benjamin Franklins these days.

Belichick is the highest paid coach in the NFL at $7.5 million says Forbes. Amongst head coaches in professional sports, only Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson pulls in more paper ($10.3 million).

Interestingly enough, the top 10 highest paid coaches in sports comprised only of those from the NFL and NBA.

Mike Shanahan, Pete Carroll (!!!), and Jeff Fisher were the other head coaches from the NFL in the aforementioned list.

Shanahan, who signed this year to lead the Redskins, will make $7 million per season. Carroll, who Belichick replaced as head coach of the Patriots, will also make $7 million annually.

The proud owner of three Super Bowl rings as a head coach, Belichick has coached the Patriots since 2000 and his rise (along with the team) made the New England Patriots one of the landmark franchises in the NFL.

One thing you have to admire about Belichick is that he doesn’t flaunt his wealth publicly. In fact, for all we know his wardrobe consists of mostly sweatshirts, workout pants and a couple of suits. Good for him.

He’s the complete opposite of Sean “Puffy, Puff Daddy, Diddy, P. Diddy” Combs, who isn’t afraid to floss and flex his financial muscle. Speaking of Mr. Combs, he is here to share his philosophy on monetary value for Music Monday.
