Remember when USC decided to erase Reggie Bush from their athletic program’s history a few weeks back? Well, Bill Belichick is now taking a similar tact as the Patriots prepare for the 2010 season.
New England’s fearless leader decided to remove any pictures saluting the franchise’s three Super Bowl titles from the walls in Gillette Stadium.
Such an action is thought to promote a clean slate for the 2010 season and to also rid the franchise of resting on past successes instead of moving forward towards future glory.
Classic Belichick move. I’m not sure it will actually get through to the youngsters but it’s certainly a strong message to the veterans that its time to reclaim the franchise’s once lofty perch.
