The San Jose Mercury News reported earlier today that Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck will return to school for the 2011 season.

This clears the deck for Carolina to select _________ with the first pick of the NFL Draft. 

Wow. I didn’t see this one coming. Good for Luck.

The next quarterback in line would appear to be Blaine Gabbert of Missouri.

Considering ESPN’s Trent Dilfer proclaims Luck as the best quarterback prospect since John Elway, I’d say that’s a bit of a dropoff.
