While most Eagles fans are worried about whether Kevin Kolb or Michael Vick will be their starting quarterback next season, some have more pressing issues to tend to, like vandalizing the car of a college professor for starters.
Craig Coenen, a professor at Lehigh Valley College and Packers fan, attended Sunday’s game with his dad.
Following Green Bay’s 21-16 win, Coenen returned to his car to find over $2,000 worth of damage done to his vehicle by some unhappy Eagles fans.
Let me take this opportunity to offer some tips to opposing fans entering enemy territory at the Linc.
I believe there are five essential things you have to do in order to be safe.
- Hide all your team’s decals on your car.
- If you must wear a hat, make it a generic one. If it must be from a sports team, just pick a basketball or hockey team. The NBA is DOA in Philly at the moment and no one will notice (or care) if you wear a Minnesota Wild cap.
- If you want to wear the opposing team’s gear, make sure you have a jacket that can zip up. If they can’t tell what team you’re supporting, they’ll leave you alone.
- If you want to really challenge fate and show up decked out in team gear, TRAVEL IN PACKS!!! No pun intended of course. There is always safety in numbers.
- During the game, keep cheering to a minimum. Actually, just opt for a smirk for whenever your team makes a big play. Contain most of your celebrating to when you either get back to your car or when arriving back home.
*Bonus tip: Limit your drinking. If you’re tuned up, the odds of you blurting out “AAAAARRROOOON RODDDDGERS IS BETTER THAN MICHAEL VICK!!!!” skyrocket significantly. So does the likelihood of you getting a fist to the face.
If you follow these tips, your trip to Philadelphia will be a lot easier.
When waving the flag of the enemy in their building, you’re taking a huge risk.
This just in…Philly fans can be a bit much to deal with at times.
