The NFL and NFLPA agreed upon a 24-hour extension of the current collective bargaining agreement on Thursday.
According to numerous sources, the extension allows both sides to examine prospective deals past the original deadline of Thursday at 11:59 p.m. ET.
In other lockout related matters, if the union decertifies (which is a distinct possibility), Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning would be among nine names listed as plaintiffs in an antitrust lawsuit against the NFL.
As for the extension, does it mean that a deal is imminent?
Not so fast.
A league source told the National Football Post that both sides were “miles apart.”
