Super Bowl XLVI hits your television screen on Sunday afternoon and thus, we’ll have an accompanying live blog to get through another Super Sunday of bad food and great football.
Ah yes, about the title for a moment.
Back in 1987, Miami Vice’s Sonny Crockett watched in horror as his personal life and professional life collided in an episode titled “Deliver Us From Evil.”
While trying to bust killing machine Frank Hackman, Crockett mistakenly shot and killed Hackman’s girlfriend.
Hackman plotted and found an opportunity to score a significant measure of revenge.
Crockett’s wife was singer Caitlin Davies (played by the lovely Sheena Easton); during a Davies concert in Miami, Hackman killed the singer via a sniper rifle as she finished a performance.
Following the shooting, the rest of the show revolved around Crockett’s ability to avenge his wife’s death.
Revenge is one of the storylines for Super Bowl XLVI as the Patriots try to replace the bitter taste of their last trip to the NFL’s championship game – a 17-14 loss to the Giants.
Can they find redemption on Super Bowl Sunday?
It should be a great game.
