The tale of Tim Tebow is potentially in-store for a major storyline jolt according to Pro Football Talk.
The site reports that Denver will get rid of Tebow if the team can land free agent quarterback Peyton Manning according to sources.
If Manning does land in Denver, John Elway and John Fox found out last year that Tebow just being on the bench is a distraction to the team.
It appears they don’t want to risk a repeat of last year. Granted, Peyton Manning is no Kyle Orton and thus, a quarterback controversy is unlikely if Manning plays like Manning.
Tebow is too big of a hot button issue to hang around and hold a clipboard though – especially if Manning is the starter.
Speaking of Tebow, a mild Twitter dustup occurred last night when Nicole Darin of WTSP-TV tweeted that Tebow cancelled an appearance in Tampa.
She surmised that perhaps Tebow’s cancellation was a way to avoid any discussion about Manning.

Truth be told, she is probably right to a degree. Tebow hasn’t publicly commented on it.
Let’s be real. Bringing Manning in basically says to Tebow that Denver doesn’t think he is the guy to take them to where they want to go (Super Bowl).
Tebow probably doesn’t want to answer questions at the moment regarding that line of thinking.
Even if Manning lands permanently in Arizona or Miami, the reverberations of his visit will be felt in Denver for weeks and months to come.
