The Atlanta Falcons turned down an offer to appear on HBO’s Hard Knocks series, that will chronicle a team’s run through training camp and into the preseason.
Thomas Dimitroff, the team’s general manager, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the team wanted to focus on winning; and in turn, improve the squad’s national brand.
You know what would help the team’s national brand?
Winning a playoff game (only six postseasons wins in the team’s 46-year history) and actual being a consistent winner (just 14 winning seasons all-time, which includes their current streak of four in a row) helps out the national profile plenty.
Anyhow, you know who desperately needs to do Hard Knocks just to get some positive buzz around the franchise?
Miami.
Are there more exciting teams in the NFL? Yes, yes, yes.
There may not be one more needing of a facelift or temporary jolt of enthusiasm though.
Once one of the NFL’s most relevant franchises, the Dolphins have suddenly become irrelevant.
Granted, they don’t possess a ton of showcase players now that Brandon Marshall is gone but they are a franchise that needs a PR boost.
If necessary, just do every show on Miami’s never-ending search for the next Dan Marino and Reggie Bush’s eternal chase for Kim Kardashian.
