Terrell Owens is back in the NFL as a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
Owens agreed to a one-year contract with the team on Monday.
Last seen with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010, the 38-year-old Owens returns to the NFL after a layoff that included indoor football, men’s softball, an appearance on Dr. Phil, child-support issues and other alleged transgressions.
A receiving corps that includes Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice, and Golden Tate is not awe-inspiring but he addition of Owens might push those guys.
By the way, the unintentional comedy scale might break when Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson, and/or Tavaris Jackson attempt to discuss plays or incomplete passes with Owens.
Those should be exceptionally awkward.
Anyhow, Owens will attempt to prove he is still relevant in the NFL landscape.
It’ll be his sixth team and fourth since 2008 as he looks for his first 1,000 yard season receiving since 2008.
