If The Playoffs Started Today: The Texans Got Torched But Have Cool Varsity Jackets Edition

The Houston Texans wore varsity jackets as they arrived to Foxborough, Massachusetts on Monday night before their big game against the Patriots.

Unfortunately for Texans fans, nothing about Houston’s play on Monday night resembled varsity-like qualities.

Houston still sits in the catbird seat for home-field advantage in the AFC. However, the Patriots are nipping at their heels.

Week 15 is a huge one in the AFC top tier. Baltimore hosts Denver. If the Broncos lose, their hopes for a bye lessen if New England defeats San Francisco in Foxborough next Sunday night.

Incredibly, the Texans can still lose the AFC South. If Indianapolis wins out (they play Houston twice in the next three weeks), they’ll win the division.

In the NFC, the wild card race is going to be a mess. Four teams are one back in the loss column of Seattle and Chicago (Washington, Dallas, Minnesota, and St.Louis).

San Francisco could have a lot to lose next week. A win over New England keeps them in the race for home-field in the NFC playoffs. Meanwhile, a loss potentially draws Seattle closer to the top of the NFC West.
