Late in the second of New England’s 43-21 win over the Denver Broncos, it became rather evident that Bill Belichick was definitely interested in scoring north of 50 points.
During the second half, New England was faced with a 4th and 1 from the Denver 42 with just over six minutes left. Belichick sent out his punt team. Then, in a bit of trickery, called for the offense to run out quickly to get a snap in to pick up the first down.
Unfortunately for Belichick and the Pats, an official stood over the ball to prevent New England from advancing the play while some 40+ players ran on and off the field to switch spots.
A shrewd attempt by the Patriots but to no avail.
