Sensing a potentially magical playoff run will be flattened before it ever gets off the ground, injured Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett is lobbying for Kurt Warner to come out of retirement in time for Arizona’s (soon-to-be) playoff run.
While Arizona took a giant step towards the playoffs with a 12-6 win over the St. Louis Rams last night, they lost quarterback Drew Stanton to a knee injury.
Stanton suffered a sprained ACL and MCL, which left the quarterback keys in the unsteady hands of Ryan Lindley.
Meanwhile, Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians stated that Stanton’s injury is a “day-to-day” thing.
The appearance of Lindley and alarming state of Cardinals quarterbacks at the moment caused Dockett to reach out on Twitter to Warner, a former NFL MVP and the only quarterback to ever lead the Cardinals to a Super Bowl.
Warner responded back to his former teammate by saying “If I thought I could, I would!!!”
Of course, a Warner return would be AMAZING but obviously, it’s not going to happen.

That would be the coolest.
