New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead caught the first touchdown pass of the season for Tom Brady during a 36-20 Pats win over New Orleans on Sunday.
Burkhead left Cincinnati for New England during the offseason and apparently took the team’s ability to score touchdowns with him.
Through the first two games of the 2017 season, the Cincinnati Bengals have failed to score a touchdown.
The last time they scored a touchdown came in the 2016 season finale in January against the Baltimore Ravens. Rex Burkhead (yes, the same Rex Burkhead) scored the last touchdown for the Bengals.
Cincinnati, who fired Ken Zampese as their offensive coordinator after Thursday’s loss to Houston, has mustered just nine points in two games.
They’ll figure it out one of these days. However, that may not start on Sunday when they visit the Green Bay Packers.
