Former NFL quarterback (and sworn enemy of Michael Rapaport) Johnny Manziel practiced on Thursday in front of a collection of NFL teams including the New England Patriots.
Manziel took part in a pro day at the University of San Diego and reportedly looked sharp while completing passes to receivers.
For what it is worth, Manziel completed 36 out of 38 throws during a rain-filled workout.
Reportedly, 13 teams were in attendance to check out ex-Browns quarterback: Browns (?!?!?), Bears, Lions, Patriots, Chargers, Giants, Jets, Chiefs, Raiders, Buccaneers, Titans, Jaguars, and Panthers.
Based off the 13 teams, it’s pretty evident that Manziel is clearly looking at a backup role. If he does land back in the NFL, Mr. Rapaport will not be a happy man.
Here is what I want to know. If Colin Kaepernick announced tomorrow that he is going to attend a pro day, how many teams show up? One? Two? None?
Considering Manziel’s precipitous fall over the past few years, if he lands in the NFL before Kaepernick, that tells you everything you need to know about the former 49ers quarterback and his place in The Shield™.
I’m not sure if Manziel will get another chance. However, based off looks it appears he is far closer than Kaepernick to getting back into the NFL.
