Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, the 2017 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, wants to get better heading into 2018 and is willing to go bizarre lengths to do so.
Footage surfaced on Sunday of Donald going through an off-season workout with a very notable twist. Donald’s trainer was armed with knives during the workout. Thus, as he made a sweeping motion with knives in both hands, Donald maneuvered around them easily.
After watching this about 20 times, it is unbelievable that Donald is using this method to train. Sure, he’s already the league’s top defender and wants to stay there but training with weapons?
This is a good time to remind you that Donald will be joined by Ndamukong Suh along the Rams defensive front. The former Lions and Dolphins defensive tackle recently signed a one-year, $14 million deal with the Rams.
If Donald can easily dodge knives, he will assuredly devastate offensive backfields and quarterbacks around the league once again.
